Cancer Treatment at Valley General

At Valley General Hospital we believe your health care should be driven by your wishes. We do our utmost to provide outstanding and compassionate care to each patient we see. We offer a comprehensive range of services for diagnosing and treating cancer.

Western Washington Medical Group provides outpatient medical oncology services on the second floor of the Specialty Suites at Valley General Hospital. Our medical team can meet your oncology needs in a relaxed and friendly space, conveniently close to your home.

Cancer Comfort Program

Many long hours are spent at the hospital when you are undergoing chemotherapy treatment. As a way to provide patients and their loved ones a more pleasurable experience during this time, the VGH Foundation recently released funds to purchase battery-operated portable DVD players, as well as a library of DVDs. In addition, snacks and/or luncheons are provided free of charge to our cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. “These small gestures go miles with our cancer patients,” states Ranelle Wolfe, oncology nurse.

Our thoroughly experienced Oncology Certified Nurse Specialists will care for you with compassion, and help answer your cancer and treatment questions. Valley General Hospital provides oncology patients the following services:

  • Oncology consultation
  • Medical evaluation
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Hydration
  • Indwelling venous catheter placement and care
  • Blood draws from all types of venous access devices
  • IV antibiotics
  • Blood and blood product administration

Cancer Support

Valley General Hospital provides our community with a cancer support group that meets every Monday of the month from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on the second floor of the hospital. The support group is for patients, caregivers, family members and friends to come together to give and receive support and to promote a new sense of strength and healing.
