Manley, VGH Commissioner Resigns After 15 Years
Monroe, WA – Mike Manley (previously a Monroe resident and a current Snohomish resident), resigned last week as one of Valley General Hospital’s commissioners, after 15 years of dedicated service to the public office. Manley will continue to be involved in the community, but will refocus his activities to those occurring in Snohomish.
Commissioners are elected officials of Valley General Hospital. The Board’s mission is to ensure the needs of those they represent. The patients and the citizens of the hospital’s district are their top priority and concern.
Some of the more rewarding experiences of Manley’s term on the hospital’s Board of Commissioners, Manley stated that, “Seeing the completion of the Sky River Medical Center and the creative financing that made the project possible,” was high on the list of many. (The Sky River Medical Center is physician-owned and VGH leases office space.) Another fond experience was “starting the hospitalist program and the new internal medicine clinic, with Diane Doerner, MD.”
Mark Judy, Valley General Hospital CEO stated, "Mike has a passion for health care. He is extremely committed, caring and intelligent, and always brought healthy perspectives to the table. He has done great things for health care in this region and will truly be missed at Valley General."
When asked what he will miss the most, Manley stated, “Not what, but whom. I will miss working with the hospital leadership and the medical staff leadership. These are high quality people who perform ‘above and beyond the call of duty’ on a routine basis.”
