Monroe, WA – Now is the time of year when many of us give thanks! The Valley General Hospital Recovery Center would like to give thanks to those that support the VGH Foundation, because just last week the Foundation purchased the Recovery Center a brand new van.
The Valley General Hospital Recovery Services is the new owner of a 2008 Ford 12-passenger van thanks to the Foundation, with help from Bickford Ford Mercury in Snohomish. Mike Bickford and Lin McIlrath, VGH Foundation, were able to collaborate to provide the much-needed van. The new van replaces an older van that needed many repairs and sat only 3 passengers at most. The new van also has special safety features.
The program now located in a new facility adjacent to the hospital campus has doubled its patient capacity, but did not have the transportation to grow with the program. The van will be used by hospital staff to transport patients to and from AA and 12-step meetings, Recovery Center potlucks and other recreational physical fitness activities.
The VGH Foundation annually raises funds for much needed equipment, programs and services at Valley General Hospital. For more information about the Foundation, contact 360-805-6304.
