Monroe, WA – On September 28, following the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Sky River Medical Center, Monroe Mayor Donnetta Walser drew the Valley General Hospital Foundation Classic Car Raffle winning ticket. With the MOB as a perfect back drop for the 1969 Red Corvette, Neil Watkins, Foundation President, read the winning ticket and the thirteenth winner of the Foundation’s car raffle.

Michael Dalton of Clinton, Washington is the proud winner of the 1969 Corvette. After hearing the good news, Dalton told Lin McIlrath, Foundation Manager, he had only won something once before, “a turkey – thirty years earlier.” Dalton had purchased 10 discount books over the course of the annual fund raising campaign. Michael and wife, Stephanie Dalton, claimed their prize on Tuesday, October 11. “I was excited and pleased, but not surprised,” said Dalton after the winning phone call.

This years ticket sales were approximately 25,000 with gross revenue at nearly $100,000. Raffle proceeds are “undesignated funds.” The Valley General Hospital Foundation Board determines the use of raffle proceeds at their upcoming Board Retreat in November after review of the Hospital’s Capital Needs list.

For more information about the Annual Classic Car Raffle and Valley General Hospital’s Foundation, please call Lin McIlrath, Foundation Manager at 360-794-7497 ext. 304.
