Monroe Hospital CEO to Chair State Hospital Association

Monroe, WA –Mark Judy, CEO at Valley General Hospital will take over as Chair of the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) this month. As Chair, Mr. Judy will preside over the Board of Trustees and chair the Executive Committee.

The Washington State Hospital Association is the trade association of the 97 hospitals in Washington State. The association takes a major leadership role in issues that affect delivery, quality, accessibility, affordability and continuity of health care. It works to improve the health status of the residents of Washington State. It also engages in public policy advocacy with legislators and regulators on behalf of the hospitals of Washington State.

“We are delighted to have Mr. Judy providing leadership to our association,” said Leo Greenawalt, President of the Washington State Hospital Association. “He has proven himself to be a valuable member of our board and executive committee, and I know he will bring vision and dedication as the leader of our organization. His personal passion for hospital safety and quality and for ensuring all Washingtonians have access to care will keep us moving in the right direction.”

Mr. Judy states, “I feel privileged to take the helm at the hospital association. Our state is poised to engage in serious discussions about changes to the health care system. Our work to make the goal of health insurance and a medical home for all Washington’s children a reality is really exciting to me. I am looking forward to getting to work on these critical issues.”

Mark also serves as the only hospital liaison representation on the Board of the Washington State Medical Association and on the advisory Board to Washington Casualty Company. Mr. Judy has been involved with WSHA for over 20 years.
