Monroe, WA –Valley General Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of the Valley General Hospital Counseling Center this month. Psychiatrists Jamal Mustafa, MD and Kamal Mustafa, MD have been practicing in the Puget Sound area for many years and came to Valley General Hospital in 2009 to help serve patients seeking behavioral health services in East Snohomish County.
“There is a great need for mental health services in our area,” states Lauren Barber – Behavioral Health Director at VGH. “We now have an enormous community benefit in these two physicians. Drs. Mustafa are well-known in their field and they provide very specialized care.”
Other practitioners will be supporting Drs. Mustafa (who are brothers) offering a full range of outpatient services, including new treatments for alcoholism (vivitrol) and opiate (suboxone) addictions. For a complete listing of services, please call 360-863-2818.
The VGH Counseling Center is located in the VGH Recovery Center, which is across the street from the hospital’s main campus. Other VGH Behavioral Health programs include the Recovery Center and the Inpatient Psychiatric Treatment Unit. For more information about our behavioral health programs, please call 360-794-1447 ext. 383.
