New Surgeon to Join VGH’s Medical Staff
Dr. Borjeson to join growing specialty in East Snohomish County

Monroe, WA – Jonathan Borjeson, DO, board-certified in general surgery, has joined Monroe General Surgery in the Sky River Medical Center on Valley General Hospital’s campus. “I decided to come to Monroe because of the significant demand and need for general surgery services in this community,” states Borjeson.

Not originally from the Northwest area Dr. Borjeson has quickly become familiar with the needs of this community, “Monroe and the surrounding communities are rapidly growing. It’s exciting to be a part of that growth and providing quality care in a community hospital environment.”

Dr. Borjeson believes as a general surgeon it is imperative to build trusting relationships with his patients. “I provide the quality of care I would want any one of my family members to receive. That carries through diagnosis to treatment to recovery. I want the best possible outcome for my patients.”

Valley General Hospital has continued its focus on the recruitment of quality specialty physicians to meet the needs of its patients. “The hospital and medical staff are very excited about Dr. Borjeson’s arrival,” states Mark Judy, CEO, Valley General Hospital. “He will enhance the already exceptional surgery services provided in East Snohomish County.” Dr. Borjeson also brings an interest and experience in laparoscopic surgeries which are minimally-invasive and offer many benefits to the patient.

Dr. Borjeson graduated with a degree in engineering and worked as a NASA engineer before he decided to attend medical school. “Having that education and background has made me a better physician,” states Borjeson. “Looking at the technical way our bodies function, analyzing systems and treating patients by breaking down their systems.”

Dr. Borjeson grew up in the San Francisco area and attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. He completed his residency at San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, CA in general surgery.

During his free time Dr. Borjeson enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three children including kayaking and fishing.
