Hospital’s Foundation Reaches Campaign Goal
Foundation to Purchase Cardiac Equipment for ED
Monroe, WA – The Valley General Hospital Foundation’s mission is to fund programs and equipment for Valley General Hospital that may go unfunded without their support. In 2005, the VGH Foundation committed to raise a goal of $120,000 to purchase new bedside monitoring equipment for the VGH Emergency Department. “This was an opportunity for the Foundation to live its mission to fund the needed state-of-the-art equipment for Valley General,” states Neil Watkins, Foundation President.
This month the Foundation received a $6,000 contribution for the equipment from the Valley General Hospital Guild. With the Guild’s gift the Foundation can now distribute the funds that will purchase the equipment. “This may be the first of many opportunities for the hospital Guild and Foundation to partner to achieve such great results,” states Jan Dee, Guild Vice-president.
Other substantial monetary support to the campaign came from North Sound Emergency Medicine physicians, Western Washington Medical Group and Everett Cardiac Surgical Associates. Many more individuals also contributed to the campaign, including many hospital employees. The Foundation is hosting a “celebration” on July 18 to thank its contributors for their commitment in achieving this goal.
