Family and Safety
NEW! Baby and You
New parents need support, encouragement and answers! This interactive class will help you through your adjustment to parenthood. Discussion topics include calming your crying baby, infant feeding, encouraging healthy sleep, parenting styles, changes in relationships and roles, playing with your developing baby, infant massage, identifying illness, safety, childcare/daycare choices and returning to work.
Ideal to start class when baby is 4 to 8 weeks old. Class meets for four weeks. Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $40 for Mom and baby and an additional $15 if dad attends also.

NEW! Becoming a Love and Logic Parent
Learn about the Love and Logic parenting philosophy! This 7-week class series will teach you about parenting methods that work! The philosophy teaches parents to become “consultant” parents, with thoughtful guidelines for children and firm, enforceable limits. Taught by Deborah Nalty, MD and Mary Nalty, RN. Class is on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Class fee is $50 (scholarships are available). Pre-registration is required.
Welcome Baby! - Six-week (12 hour) child birth preparation course for expectant parents. Taught by a certified CBE.
Offered on Wednesdays from 7 – 9 p.m. Registration is required. ($75 – medical coupons accepted)

Choosing and Using a Car Seat - A program designed to help parents select the right car seat for their child and how to install it correctly for maximum safety. Presented by East County Sheriff’s department.
Offered on Wednesdays from 6 – 7 p.m. Registration required. (Free)
First Aid, Safety, CPR and AED Awareness - Includes infant, child and adult CPR. Two year certification.
Offered on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Registration is required. ($48)

Star Sitters – In this 6 hour workshop students ages 11 – 16 learn about:
- personal and home safety
- first aid and fire safety
- infant care including holding, feeding and diapering
- socialization and development of children
Class is held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The class fee is $35. Please make sure to bring a disposable sack lunch.

Look Good... Feel Better
Cancer can rob a woman of her energy, appetite and strength. But it doesn't have to take away her self-confidence. Look Good... Feel Better is a free program that teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearence-related side effects of cancer treatment. Wellness
Body Sculpting - This class is a total body work out with concentration on toning and strengthening of muscles. Class begins with a little cardiovascular activity. Course includes weekly one hour class session, $6 a class, every Tuesday, 7:15 – 8:15 p.m. (Minor equipment is required. Call for more details.)
Pilates - Pilates offers a full body work out which focuses on the abdominal region, back strengthening, flexibility and breathing. Course includes weekly one hour class session, $6 a class, every Wednesday. (You must register a month at a time.) Class is from 7:15 - 8:15 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Kick-a-lates – This is a combination class of both Kickboxing and Pilates. Course includes weekly one hour class session, $6 a class, every Thursday. (You must register a month at a time.) Class is from 7:15 - 8:15 p.m. on Thursdays.
*Discounts are offered for our wellness courses if participants register for more than one class during the month.
Seniors
AARP Driver Safety Program - Eight hour, two day, refresher course for seniors.
From 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. both days.
Registration is required. ($10 payable to AARP):
